Making low carb simple

Instructions

  1. Mix butter, garlic, parsley, and lemon juice. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.

  2. Make a few small cuts in the fat surrounding the chops to help them stay flat when frying. Season with salt and pepper.

  3. In a large frying pan, melt the butter over medium-high heat. Add the chops and fry for about 5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and thoroughly cooked through.

  4. Remove the chops from the pan and keep warm.

  5. Use the same skillet and add the beans. Salt and pepper to taste. Cook over medium-high heat until the beans have a vibrant color and are slightly softened but still a bit crunchy.

  6. Serve the pork chops and beans together with a dollop of garlic butter melting on top.

Tip

Canned or frozen green beans may not be quite as crunchy but still taste great and deliver easy nutrients straight from your freezer or pantry.

This looks delicious, but butter does not do well at medium high temp. I just tried this anyway and the butter immediately scorched, turn brown/black, and smoked. I salvaged half the butter that hadn't melted yet and turned down the heat to medium, but how is it you expect to cook at medium-high heat with butter and not have it burn?

I made this last night and I put a table spoon of olive oil in the butter to keep it from burning. Worked great!! We loved this dish and will have it again and again.

Just made this for dinner, used 3/4 inch bone in pork chops. Butter portion was devine, I used lime juice instead of lemon, works very well. We will definitely be making this again!

Delicious, but think I will use ghee next time for frying the pork. It stands up to high heat better.

This dinner put me way over for all my macros. Can I really lose weight this way? 3 eggs for breakfast. 3 oz tuna with 2 tbsp map, 1/2 avocado for lunch. Now add 910 calories, 73% fat. Worried.

How would you fix this in an InstantPot?

You would want to use the saute feature as it's the sauteeing in butter that gives the nice crust.

OMG, what is wrong with people today, so many of these comments are ignorant, do they not know how to do anything on their own or look it up or try something different that is on the keto plan I feel sorry for the diet doctor people, they must get very frustrated reading the comments. Thanks to diet Dr forgiving us a lot of the information we need to get started on the keto plan I appreciate your efforts.

When I add this recipe to my grocery list for one serving it states the pork chop is 9oz. That’s kind of high no? I am subbing the chop with ribeye do I get a 9oz ribeye or would a typical 5-5oz ribeye be better? I mean I would love a 9oz ribeye but I don’t want to over eat protein.

It states 9oz because (I am assuming here) that you are planning on making the 1+1 servings? One serving for dinner and then the +1 for lunch the next day? I would double check that!

I added this recipe to finish off my first week edited dairy free planner. No repeat for Monday because it’s a different week. On the app I reduce the 4 settings to 1 and it says 9oz. I have a screencap of it :)
When I multiply it to 2 servings it rockets to 20oz
So plan on my typical 5-6 ounces?

The macros shown in this recipe is wrong. There is no way you are getting the amount of protein with just one pork chop per serving.

This is amazing. I kept the temps to med and it all turned out beautifully. The butter with the garlic and parsley with that hint of lemon juice was perfect with the pork chops. I did add some sliced red onion and some fresh garlic in with the potty chops. I added the green beans in towards the end of the port chops cooking. The flavor surprised me at how well they came together. Keeping this as my go to.
