2022 is well, almost complete, and it’s brought tons of new horror movies to get our hearts pumping. Whether you’re a horror movie lover, or are just trying to throw a scary movie marathon with your besties and need some new picks, you’ll be beyond pleased because the fright factor of this year’s horror movies has not disappointed. Fresh fuels fears of modern dating, while the Scream remake reintroduces one of the most infamous characters in horror movie history. And the good news is: scary movie fans can maintain high expectations for the remainder of 2022.

Yep, there are still some screams in store, as films arrive in theaters and on streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, and more throughout the rest of 2022. From Jordan Peele’s new thriller to the final chapter of the Halloween reboot trilogy, this year’s frightful films are guaranteed to make every hair stand on end. In addition to terrifying tales like A24’s Men or the psychological horror Smile, there are some not-super-horrifying but bewitching (pun intended) classics that arrived this fall, such as Hocus Pocus 2. We definitely can’t be the only ones who were dying to know what trouble the Sanderson Sisters were brewing over the past 30 years (and that post-credit scene certainly has us wondering what might happen next).

In the dark about what other nail-biters are hitting theaters and streaming services this year? Keep scrolling for a comprehensive list of the most anticipated horror movies of 2022 (so far), plus what you can watch now.

Nope

There’s Going to Be a Fourth “Conjuring” Film — Here’s What We Know So Far (13)View full post on Youtube

Given the hair-raising standard of Jordan Peele’s previous horror projects, Get Out and Us, Nope is expected to be an absolute thriller. The first trailer, which dropped on Sunday, February 13, proved just that, giving fans a glimpse into the film's unearthly storyline.

The two-minute-long clip focuses largely on the characters played by Keke Palmer and Daniel Kaluuya (star of Peele’s Get Out). Not many specific details are revealed, but a dark, swirling cloud suggests that some otherworldly presence is the evil at play here. Other shots show Palmer, Kaluuya, and Steven Yeun’s characters looking up at the sky in horror, while the very last scene depicts Palmer being thrown into the air.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the cast also includes Barbie Ferreira, Brandon Perea, and Michael Wincott.
