Things We Never Got Over follows Naomi Witt, a 30-something identical twin, immediately after she became a runaway bride and left her groom at the alter, to a middle-of-nowhere country town in Virginia called Knockemout — the kind of place that handles things the old-fashioned way.
There, she meets the brooding perpetually single local bartender and bad boy barber, Knox Morgan. And her estranged twin, Tina, leaves behind her daughter, Naomi’s 11-year-old niece, Waylay, for whom Naomi must care.
Naomi and Knox are immediately attracted to one another but neither is looking for or desiring a relationship. As the story progresses, however, their connection is undeniable and they soon throw out all the rules they’ve set in place.
Despite being a romance at its core, Things We Never Got Over also features an entertaining cast of supporting characters and many unexpected plot twists. Naomi’s new life in Knockemout includes a custody battle, a new job, the return of her evil twin, and organized crime bosses.
Things We Never Got Over is fast-paced and very spicy. At its core, it’s a small-town romance of two unlikely people, and the witty supporting cast that surrounds them is more than entertaining.
