Netflix released all 12 episodes of Insatiable on Friday, August 10.

Insatiable follows the story of Patty (played by Debby Ryan) who for years had been bullied because she was overweight. Patty now finds herself thin, fit and healthy and decides to take revenge on her enemies with the aid of Bob Armstrong (Dallas Roberts) who coaches her to become a beauty pageant queen.

Netflix describes Insatiable as a “dark, twisted, revenge comedy” but also explores more serious themes such as bullying, eating disorders and coming of age.

However, the show has received criticism for its portrayal of eating disorders and has been accused of fat shaming by critics but that has not stopped viewers watching Insatiable over the weekend.

How did Insatiable end?

Episode twelve of Insatiable is called “Why Bad Things Happen”. The entire episode is based on the idea that bad things will happen to those who do bad things.

At the beginning of the episode, Patty has been kidnapped by Stella Rose (Beverly D’Angelo) and Roxy Buckley (Chloe Bridges). The girls plan on killing Patty but want to make it look like she has taken her own life.

Stella wants to punish Patty’s lawyer and beauty pageant coach Bob for not loving her back.

Patty manages to escape from the dog mobile she was captured in and ends up in the company of her ex-boyfriend Christian (James Lastovic).

Christian had captured Magnolia (Erinn Westbrook), Patty’s enemy, and drugged her before putting her in the boot of his car and taking her to an empty car park. He tries to convince Patty to murder her, so she will love him again.

He says to Patty: “You said you wanted to be a winner, and winner’s win at any cost” but Patty changes her mind and sets Magnolia free.

Instead the life and death battle is between Patty and Christian after Christian called her a “bad person” for setting Magnolia free.

Patty responded screaming “I am a good person” whilst beating him to death.

Not only was this an unexpected twist in the plot, the finale also ended on a huge cliffhanger with Patty admitting to murdering more than just her stalker ex-boyfriend in the one evening.

Patty calls her lawyer Bob for help with disposing of Christian's body.

In the final seconds of the final episode, Patty admits to Bob that she killed Stella Rose (Beverly D’Angelo) before the screen fades to black.

At some point between escaping and killing her ex-boyfriend, Patty killed Stella. Hopefully, a second season will explain exactly when this happened and will follow what will happen to Patty next.

Another important subplot to the finale saw Bob, a closeted gay married man, have a threesome with Bob Barnard (Christopher Gorham) and his wife Coralee (Alyssa Milano). He tried to suggest the idea of the three of them being together as a couple - atruple- however, he was left devasted when Barnard did not want to commit.

Bob cannot choose between his wife and Barnard, so instead decides to help Patty cover up not one, but two murders.

Will there be another season of Insatiable?

Insatiable season two has not officially been confirmed yet. The show’s creators and cast have not given any hints away either.

As it has just recently been released, a renewal will depend on the viewing figures, so fans will have to wait a while.

However, the show does stand a chance of a renewal. The show was originally meant to be a series on the American network The CW before Netflix picked it up which suggests the show was written with more seasons intended.

Insatiable is not based on any source material so there is huge potential for show creator, Lauren Gussis to keep developing the story.
