Easy Low Carb Pizza Crust

A while back, I offered the recipe for how to make a Low Carb Pizza Crust.

That recipe was based upon the standard pizza crust that we often enjoy from our favorite pizza restaurant. The leavening ingredient used in this standard recipe is yeast. When we put yeast into our pizza, or dough really, that means there will be a bit of work following the mixing of ingredients. This work usually includes a rising and kneading of dough- at least in most recipes it does. Hence, using yeast in a recipe usually does not lend to an easy and quick recipe, even as impressive as it may seem.

However, not everyone is interested in a 'work of art' pizza all of the time.
Sometimes, we simply just want a homemade, quick and easy pizza. As a result, we have pizza crust recipes such as this one.

This pizza crust recipe is a recipe of convenience.

The ingredient list is simple. Also, the steps in this recipe are relatively easy. This is thanks to one magic ingredient which takes many of the normal yeast crust steps out of the process. As a result, we have more of a convenient recipe here than a 'work of art'. The good news of course is that this pizza is still pretty taste...in my opinions.

We will start with a low carb baking mix.
Carbquick Baking Mix is a low carb version of a basic baking mix. It contains about 90% fewer carbohydrates than a regular baking mix. Most importantly, Carbquick has a leavening agent already included in it. This means there is no waiting to rise time and no repeated kneading in the process of making this pizza. Thus, this is a quick and easy recipe.

The recipe for Easy Low Carb Pizza Crust

You can find my regular low carb pizza crust here. I also have a really popular Low Carb Pizza Roll recipe as well as my whole wheat pizza crust recipe.

What you will need to make this recipe.

  • Carbquick Baking Mix - 1 ½ cups.
  • Hot Tap Water- start with ¼ cup.
  • Olive Oil- 1 tablespoon.
  • Optional- seasonings such as salt as needed for taste.

How to make this Easy Low Carb Pizza Crust

  • Preheat your oven to 450 and prep a pan for nonstick. This pizza crust works well with a pan or an oven-safe cast iron skillet. I like to use parchment paper for my pizza because it allows for easy removal from the pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, blend together your ingredients. Do not over-mix however, if the dough seems dry then add a few drops of hot tap water.
  • Press the dough into your pan. This dough will spread more like a biscuit rather than a regular yeast dough crust.
  • Top with your favorite ingredients and bake until the pizza looks bubbly and the crust begins to brown- 12-15 minutes. Allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing to allow the ingredients to set.
